J&K Pradesh Congress Committee has strongly condemned the braid chopping incidents that are occuring in many parts of the Valley. The party alleged that the government is in deep slumber and is not trying to curb these ‘shameful’ activities.

Expressing serious concern over the continuous incidents of Braid Chopping in South Kashmir and elsewhere in the Valley, the Congress described it as an attempt to create fear psychosis among the people.

Congress General Secretary Hilal Ahmad Shah stated that braid chopping is a very serious matter and government must take measures to contain such shameful activities. He urged upon the government to wake up to such shameful activities.

He described these anti-social activities as an attempt to disturb the peace, tranquility and asked the government to take effective measures to ascertain the identity of culprits and ensure that they are severely punished.

 He also questioned the administration as to why it has not been able to identify the culprits, so far.

 Shah expressed apprehensions that situation may deteriorate again in case such shameful and anti -social activities are not stopped.
