Police has arrested a man and seized fake currency from his possession, a police spokesman said.
Police Station Shaheed Gunj received an information that a man was possessing fake currency and is trying to spend that near Jahangir Chowk.
On this information, a police team headed by SHO Shaheed Gunj Manzoor Ahmad Beigh reached the spot and apprehended him. He was later identified as Gulzar Ahmad Shah son of Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din Shah resident of Tral Payeen. Fake currency of rupees 29,000 was recovered from his possession.
A case FIR number 75/2017 under section 489 C, 420 RPC was registered and investigation has been taken up.
