Ahead of his Seminar at Hyderpora, Hurriyat conference (M) Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq was Thursday placed under house arrest and was barred from attending it.

“Placed under #HouseArrest as i was about to leave for a seminar at Geelani Sb’s house to pay tributes to #ImamHussain(RA)& MartyrsOfKarbala,” tweeted Mirwaiz.

Mirwaiz was scheduled to organize a Seminar in connection with the Muharram at the residence of its chairman, Syed Ali Geelani. Geelani is undergoing house detention since long.
