Magrepora-11 lifts final title, defeating Hathlangoo by 79 runs

To promote local talent, a cricket tournament was organised by Hathlangoo Cricket Association at Hatlangoo Cricket ground in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district.

The tournament concluded on Sunday, which witnessed the participation of large number of teams with youth from Zainageer belt participating with great enthusiasm.

After fighting intensely during initial league matches, Magrepora-11 and Habibeya- 11 Hathlangoo reached the finals.

The enthusiasm of the people was well evident in the air as a good number og audience turned up to witness the match.

A tough contest was witnessed between both the teams, in which Magrepora- 11 won the toss and elected to bat first. Batting first Magrepora managed to score 79 runs.

While chasing the target Habibeya Champains Hathlangoo lost early wickets, which made the opposite team strong. While coming under pressure, chasing team Habibeya Champains Hathlangoo lost the final match by 11 runs.

Irfan Dilawar Bhat, senior member, Muslim Conference and Mushtaq Ahmed Tantry , President, Fruit Mandi Sopore was the chief guest on the occasion.

Meanwhile at the closing ceremony of the final cricket match guest of the occasion said that it is really great to be part of such platforms where youths are busy showing their talent. The guests also urged the youth to make use of such opportunities to hone their sporting skills
