Jammu and Kashmir Police Saturday arrested a man carrying a country made pistol in RS Pura area of Jammu.

A police party intercepted a man identified as Ashwani Kumar, a resident of Langrial in R S Pura. He was carrying a pistol and 11 live cartridges, the official said.

During preliminary inquiry, police came to know that he was involved in cases of attempt to murder and narcotics smuggling.

Police has registered a case in Satwari police station against the accused.
