At least two government offices were gutted in a fire incident in Beerwah division of Budgam district of Jammu and Kashmir on Friday.

Locals witnesses said fire engulfed the building, housing offices of Social Welfare and JK Board, around 3 am.

They said that despite their attempts to douse the flames, the building was damaged badly.

The fire was finally brought under control after four hours, resulting in massive damage to the offices.

Notably, three departmental records of ICDS,  Social Welfare and Board of School Education are said to be in the building.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
