Two militants were killed on Saturday as the Indian Army foiled an infiltration bid along the Line of Control (LoC) in Machil sector in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district.
A senior police officer told that the soldiers of 45 RR who are manning the fence at Goutum Post near LoC intercepted a group of militants.
“After being challenged the militants opened fire triggering off an encounter”, the officer said.
In the ensuing firefight, two unidentified militants were killed.
When reports last came in the operation was going in the area.
