Acute water scarcity hits Southern village as PHE fails to repair pipeline

Failure of Public Health Engineering (PHE) department to repair the ruptured pipeline in Southern district has caused acute water scarcity to Redwani Payeen village.

The residents told ‘Kashmir Vision’ that they are facing acute water scarcity from past several months as the authorities have failed to repair the ruptured pipeline supplying water to the Redwani Payeen residents of South Kashmir’s Kulgam district.

The residents living around OHT (Over Head Tank) accused authorities of ignoring their plights and demanded immediate redressal of their genuine grievances.

They said that the ruptured pipeline has also caused water logging in their area.

Inhabitants said that the authorities are ignoring their plights and are acting as mute spectator over the issue, as they are taking no steps in this regard.

They said that they approached the higher ups several times in this regard but unfortunately nothing has been done and all the promises done with the locals have prove a hoax.

Executive Engineer PHE Kulgam, G M Najar told ‘Kashmir Vision’ that they have pressed their men and machinery to repair the ruptured pipeline.
