The cavalcade of IG CRPF Monday came under stone pelting in Pulwama village sources said.
Consequently, government forces resorted to aerial firing and tear gas shelling to disperse the stone pelters.
The incident took place at Tengpuna area of south Kashmir district.
According to sources, the cavalcade was on way to Awnantipora from Pulwama.
As the cavalcade was passing through Tengpuna, scores of people started raising slogans and pelting stones, however they were dispersed by aerial firing and tear smoke shelling.
SSP Pulwama confirmed the incident however denied any aerial firing by forces.
