A middle aged man was killed on the spot after he came under a heavy shooting stone along Zojila pass, official said.

He said that a man identified as 50 year old Ghulam Nabi Shah son of Abdul Gani Shah, a resident of Khrew Pampore diedt after he was hit by a shooting stone near Water tributary locally known as Aab Muth along Zojila pass.

“The deceased along with his driver and conductor were on way to Ladakh and had parked their Truck bearing registration number JK05 7381 near Aab Muth to have lunch. But unfortunately a shooting stone hit him and killed him on the spot, ” official said.

Though he was immediately rushed to the Primary Health centre Sonamarg, however doctors declared him as brought dead.

After medico legal formalities the body was handed over to his family. Police has taken cognizance of the incident.
