The District Development Commissioner Budgam today visited the Sports Stadium Budgam to inspect the arrangements for upcoming Independence Day celebration.

The DDC was accompanied by SSP Budgam, ADC, CPO, CEO, Executive Engineer, PDD, R&B, CMO and other concerned officers.

The DDC also convened a meeting later at District headquarters in order to review and finalize the arrangements to ensure smooth conduct of Independence Day celebrations. The meeting was also attended by all SDMs/Tehsildars.

Giving details, the DDC said the main function will be held at Sports Stadium Budgam, which will start with Shahnaie Wadan followed by unfurling of tri-color by the chief guest, who will also inspect the march past and take salute at the parade.

During the celebrations, cultural programme from Information Department and variety of songs by students from some educational institutions will also be presented on the occasion.

The DDC directed all concerned departments to ensure that the required arrangement are made well in time so that celebrations could be conducted smoothly. He also directed the officers to ensure better security arrangements, parking facility, drinking water, proper seating arrangement, etc at the venue. The Health department was directed to deploy paramedical staff along with ambulance at the venue.

 The DDC said similar functions will be held at all SDM and Tehsil Headquarters, where concerned authorities will unfurl the tri-colour and take salute on march past.
