All three militants belonged to Ansar Ghazwat ul-Hind, says Police

 

Jammu and Kashmir police today claimed that the three militants killed in Gulab Bagh area of Tral belonged to newly formed group Ansar Ghazwat ul-Hind led by former Hizbul Mujahideen commander Zakir Musa.

“All 3 militants killed, they were members of Zakir Musa group. Recovered 2AKs and one pistol from Tral encounter site,” Inspector General of Police, Kashmir Munir Khan told media.

Khan further said that all the three militants were local and two of them had joined the militancy in 2015 and one in 2016.

Police said that the operation is underway in Gulab Bagh, Tral.

“Operation is still on. There are chances of one more militant in the area. Search operation is  underway,” Munir Khan told a news gathering agency.

Three militants were identified as Zahid Ahmed Bhat from Nawdal Tral, Ishfaq Ahmed from Batgund Tral and Ashraf Dar from Trich Pulwama.
