Internet services restored in South Kashmir

Internet services were restored in Shopian and Kulgam district after remaining snapped for about six days.

As per locals internet services were resumed today around 2 pm after remaining snapped since August 1.

Internet services in the whole Valley were snapped on August 1 after the death of LeT Commander Abu Dujana and Arif Lelhari in an encounter with government forces in Hakripora village of Pulwama district.

Later internet services were restored in the Valley except South Kashmir on August 2.

Internet services were restored in Pulwama and Anantnag district on August 3 however, Internet services remained suspended in Kulgam and Shopian districts due to tense situation that prevailed due to killing of two militants in Gopalpora area of Kulgam district.

Then internet services were suspended in Anantnag district on August 3 as well due to another encounter in Kanelwan village of Anantnag district which resulted in killing of one militant and a civilian.

However, internet services were restored in Anantnag on August 4 evening and remained continuously suspended in Kulgam and Pulwama districts.
