In yet another shameful incident, police on Wednesday have arrested two persons for allegedly raping a deaf and dumb girl in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, an official said today.
He said that a shopkeeper and a 12th standard student raped the girl while she grazing her animals in Baila village of Poonch Mandi.
“As she is deaf and dumb, she couldn’t raise an alarm,” said the official.
The parents of the girl approached the police after she brought the matter into their notice.
An FIR number 58/2017 under sections 376, 109 RPC was registered in Mandi police station, and the accused have been arrested and investigation taken up, he said
