Continuing its drive against drug peddlers Kulgam Police arrested a drug peddler and recovered about 24 kilograms of poppy straw from his possession.
“Kulgam police intercepted a Santro vehicle bearing registration number JK22-4067 in mobile vehicle check post (MVCP) at Shirpora in Kulgam district today. During checking of the vehicle, about 24 kilograms of poppy straw was recovered from the possession of Sajad Ahmad Rather son of Ahmad-ul-lah Rather resident of Waghama, Bijbehara.” Police said.
Consequently, Kulgam Police has registered a case FIR No. 63/2017 under section 8/15 NDPS Act and investigation has been taken up.
