Govt committed to provide basic amenities: Minister

Minister for Animal & Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Gani Kohli today said that the Government is committed to provide basic amenities to people at their door steps especially to the people living in hilly and remote areas of the State.

He said several initiatives have been taken in this regard to improve, augment and strengthen the basic infrastructure of all the sectors.

The Minister was interacting with several deputations who called on him here today.

The deputations who came from Faqir Gojri Dara and Reasi presented their demands to the Minister. These include providing of financial assistance for construction of sheds for Nomadic population, cattle and sheep units, construction of ponds and crade bunds.

The Minister gave them a patient hearing and assured them that their genuine demands would be looked into for timely disposal.

Kohli said efforts are afoot to improve the living standard of the weaker sections of the society. He said several welfare schemes have been launched by the Centre and State Governments in the State with the aim to improve the socio-economic conditions of the people. He appealed the people to come forward and avail benefits of various Government sponsored schemes.
