LoC flare-up: Injured JCO succumbs

Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) Shashi Kumar, who was injured yesterday in border firing by Pakistan at Nowshera’s Kalal, has succumbed to his injuries today, reports said.

JCO Shashi Kumar was injured in Pakistan firing yesterday in  Nowshera’s Kalal.

Pertinently, a soldier was killed in Pakistani firing in Nowshera area of Rajouri, a defence spokesman said on Tuesday.

Another soldier was killed in a sniper fire by Pakistan army at Nowgam area of Kupwara district yesterday afternoon.

Earlier today, a civilian was injured in fresh shelling in Sandote Balakote as India and Pakistan continued trading  fire and heavy mortar shelling for the third consecutive day in Mendar area of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

He was identified as 20-year-old Ahmad Raza, son of Abdul Hamied.
