Restrictions in parts of Srinagar today

Authorities on Wednesday imposed strict restrictions in old city area of Srinagar after a resident of Nowhatta was killed in a gunfight with security forces in central Kashmir’s Budgam district, police said.

Hizb-ul Mujahideen militant Sajad Ahmad Gilkar, who was a resident of Pandit Colony in Nowhatta area was among the three militants who died in Tuesday’s gunfight with forces in Radbugh village of Budgam.

Restrictions were imposed in the areas of Rainawari, Khanyar, M.R. Gunj and Safa Kadal.

Authorities also suspended mobile internet services in Srinagar and Budgam areas as a ‘precautionary measures’.
