Air India stops serving meat to economy fliers, twitter reacts

National passenger carrier Air India on Monday said that it has stopped serving non-vegetarian meals to passengers on board its domestic flights’ economy class segment.

“Air India has taken a conscious decision not to have non-vegetarian meal in economy class on its domestic flights,” a statement from Air India said.

According to the statement, the move would help the airline to reduce wastage and cost and to improve its catering services.

Reacting to the statement, former Chief Minister Omar Abdullah in a sarcastic way said that the national carrier will take 5000 years to restore to the full health of the airline in view of 50,000 crores of accumulated losses.

With ₹50,000 crores of accumulated losses this will restore Air India to full health in…. oh heck 5000 years. Well worth it 🙂

Omar Abdullah tweeted.

How much effort does it require to differentiate between colour coded stickers that say “Veg” & “Non Veg”?

Here is how twitter reacted to the announcement.
