A 15 year old student was injured after police opened fire on stone-pelting protesters in Koil Pulwama on Thursday, sources said.
The injured was identified as Kamran Mohi ul din, son of Ghulam Mohi ul din was immediately rushed to hospital.
The incident happened when a police party passing through the south Kashmir village came under heavy stone pelting.
According to the sources, the police party immediately resorted to the ‘aerial firing’ to disperse the protesters, adding, one of the bullets hit Kamran. The injured has been shifted to SKIMS Soura in critical condition.
The situation remained very tense in Pulwama district throughout the day after three militants were killed in an encounter at Kakapora.
A civilian was also killed during clashes at the hands of forces in Kakapora while as more than 60 people sustained injuries.
