Chief Secretary, B.B. Vyas Tuesday chaired a high level meeting at the Civil Secretariat here to review the arrangements for smooth conduct of Shri Amarnathji Yatra, scheduled to commence on 29 June 2017, from the Baltal and Chandanwari routes.
The meeting was attended by senior Civil, Police officers and those from the CAPF.
Underscoring the need for maintaining effective co-ordination to ensure smooth conduct of the ensuing Yatra, Chief Secretary exhorted all concerned to ensure preparedness for meeting any exigency arising en-route Yatra.
For smooth flow of information between various agencies, Chief Secretary directed for establishing Joint Control Rooms at various identified locations. He further directed for setting up of a joint check post of Police and CRPF between Ramban and Banihal along the Jammu-Srinagar National Highway. SP Ramban was instructed to coordinate the movement of Yatris, vehicles etc. along the National Highway and start an online monitoring group in this regard. Steps were finalized for establishing contingency centres at Banihal/Ramban and timelines were drawn to facilitate hassle free movement of Yatris.
Chief Secretary directed the Deputy Commissioners of Anantnag and Ganderbal to visit the camp sites on 21st June, 2017 and ensure that they are functional from today positively and Camp directors are properly briefed about their role and responsibility and that the staff associated with duties in the transit camps works as per the duty roster.
