Government releases DA of employees

Eleven percent of the Dearness Allowance (DA) of the government employees has been released, authorities said today.

According to the sources, the allowance will be released in two terms with effect from July 2016 as seven percent and January 2017 as four percent.

“This is a good news for the employees,” said Naeem Akhter while announcing the decision after the Cabinet meeting in a press conference in Srinagar. He was flanked by Finance Minister Dr Haseeb Drabu.

The amounts shall be credited to the GPF accounts of employees, the minister said. “Enhancement of DA will also apply to the pensioners and family pensioners,” he said. Other key decisions were also taken in the cabinet meet.
