Stressing the need for massive plantation and protecting the trees, Chairman, Committee on Environment of Legislative Assembly, M.Y. Tarigami said it is the duty of everyone of us to play our role in protecting the nature.

 In a message on World Environment day which is observed every year on June 5, the chairman said that World Environment day is the day for global action and resolution towards creating a clean, green and healthy environment for one and all.

Pointing out ever increasing threats to environment, he called for launching campaigns to sensitize people about the importance of healthy environment for healthy life.

Referring to  ‘the theme for World Environment Day-2017’ “ Connecting People to nature” Tarigami  said it implores us to get outside into nature, appreciate its beauty and pledge to save this green planet.
