Providing basic facilities our priority, says Lal Singh

Minister for Forest, Ecology and Environment, Chaudary Lal Singh said that improving basic facilities is high on the agenda of their government.

 “All our efforts are being made to provide better road connectivity, clean drinking water, uninterrupted electricity and up-graded educational and health facilities to the people specially those living in rural and far off areas,” he said.

The Minister was speaking at a public grievance redressal camp held at Kathua here today.

Various deputations from Kathua, Basohli and Hiranagar apprised the Minister about their problems mainly pertaining to water and Power supply, ration distribution, installation of hand pumps along with plantation of shady and fruit trees during monsoon season.

The Minister in response to the projected issues by the people passed instructions to the concerned officers to take adequate steps to mitigate the grievances of the people in time-bound manner.

He urged upon the officers to create awareness about all government schemes among rural people so that they avail maximum benefit of these schemes.

He asked people to extend full cooperation to executing agencies in implementing the development projects in their areas.

Earlier, the minister inspected ongoing work on Hatli to Badoli and Tridwan to Choi road and directed the executing agency to complete the project in fixed timeline adhering to norms. 

HODs of all the wings of Forest Department along with senior district officers and prominent citizens of Kathua, Basholi and Hiranagar were present on the occasion.
