MLA Mendhar rolls out ‘Model Gursai’ project

Member Legislative Assembly Mendhar, Javed Rana today rolled out his plan for a ‘Model Gursai Block’ and announced that a water supply scheme to the tune of 4.5 crore rupees has been sanctioned for meeting water scarcity.

The legislator also asked administration to follow footprints of District Development Commissioner Rajouri to ensure a vibrant functioning of government offices which is vital for development of any society.

Rana was on a day long tour to Gursai area of Mendhar constituency which consists of seven panchayats and is one of the most densely populated belt of the area.

People in large number welcomed MLA after which a public meeting was held wherein people drawn from all walks of life participated and raised issues of local concern which primarily include water scarcity. 

Later addressing the meeting, MLA Mendhar Javed Rana rolled out his plan of developing Gursai Block as a ‘Model Block’ of the district and to address basic issues of the people living here.

He also announced that a major water supply for this whole area has been sanctioned to the tune of funds 4.5 crore and start of this scheme will reduce water related problems to a major extent. 

Rana also announced that in the process of making Gursai Block a model one, 11 crore rupees from different heads will be released shortly while funds to the tune of four crore rupees under PMDP will also be released.

While terming vibrant bureaucracy and proactive officials as a need for development, Rana asked officers of administration to follow the footprints of District Development Commissioner Rajouri, Dr. Shahid Iqbal and asked Deputy Commissioner Poonch to ensure that work culture in all government institutions is improved.

He also said that carelessness on the part of any Government official will be taken seriously.
