An army soldier was injured when he inadvertently stepped on a landmine along the Line of Control in the Krishna Ghati (KG) sector in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district on Friday night, an army official said.
“A soldier on routine patrolling accidentally stepped on a mine that had drifted due to the rain. He was wearing mine-protected shoes and has fractured his ankle,” the official said.
The injured soldier was immediately rushed to Command Hospital, Udhampur.
