District Employment & Counseling Centre today organized a career counseling and guidance programme for girls under Rashtriya Madhmik Shikha Abhyan.
Deputy Commissioner, Bhupinder Kumar was the chief guest on the occasion. Among others Chief Education Officer, Mohammad Ashraf Rather, General Manager DIC, Shahida Praveen, Deputy Director Employment, Shaista Sultana were also present.
More than 400 girl students of Govt Higher Secondary School, Girls, Doda participated in the event to receive basic information on various career choices and the path to success in each of the selected option.
A number of expert female speakers from various fields shared their views and enlightened the students about the process of learning and choosing a career based on their interest and skills.
Among others Dr Rihana Tabassum, Assistant Professor Mathematics, GDC Doda, Ms Vishali, Captain Shikha Kunwar, Lecturer GHSS Doda, Ms Musarat also shared their views and expertise.
DDC while interacting with the students laid emphasis on girl students to opt for better career opportunities. He said that girls should come forward and opt for a promising career thereby serving the society and giving an adequate representation to the women community. He further added that all the professions are equally important, the only thing determining the choice of career being individual preferences and interest in learning.
CEO, Mohammad Ashraf Rather also interacted with the students and informed them about various government scholarship for meritorious students.
A similar career counseling and guidance programme was held at community hall, Bhaderwah for the girl students of GHSS Girls under the chairmanship of SDM Bhaderwah, Owais Ahmed in which nearly 300 students participated.
The others who spoke on the occassion include Roshina Waheed, Dr Muneeza, Dr Neetu and others.
Mrs Roshina waheed in her speech laid emphasis upon focused approach to one’s goal, hard work and consistency for achieving success. She said that there is no alternate to hardwork and no shortcut to success.
