A police constable of Jammu and Kashmir police was critically injured when some miscreants pelted stones at Awantipora on the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, official sources said.
According to the reports, a Police party was on the way to Awantipora from Seer Jagir area of Tral, where the cordon was going on. Suddenly, Youth pelted stones on them, resulting in the serious injury to the SG Constable Reyaz Ahmad of Jammu and Kashmir Police wing Awantipora.
He was immediately rushed to local hospital from where he was referred to SKIMS Srinagar, the sources added.
Meanwhile, Police officials said that an FIR has been lodged and police are trying to identify culprits.
