According to the Deputy Excise Commissioner, an Excise team headed by Excise and Taxation Officer, South Kashmir range destroyed poppy cultivation on 38 kanals of land in village Sheepian pora of Tehsil Bijbeharain Anantnag.

The Excise team was accompanied by Police personnel of concerned police station and Revenue officials.

The Deputy Excise Commissioner further said that the anti-poppy drive will continue till the menace is rooted out from the Kashmir valley.
