Traders federation Sopore with the help of excise and taxation department today organised an awareness programme for General Sales Tax (GST) regime at Sopore town.
The programme was organised by the convenor sales tax of trader’s federation Sopore Haji Mohammad Ashraf Zargar.
All members of federation and dealers of Sopore town were present. Commercial tax officer circle Sopore Parvaiz Ahmad delivered a brief lecture on GST and its policies.
He said that GST is a pan based tax policy during his interaction with trade community he said traders who have less than 20 lakhs turnover need not to be register under GST.
He also discussed the benefits of GST, CGST, IGST and SGST among the whole sale dealers as the new regime is going to be implement from July this year.
C.T.O also appreciated the trade community of Sopore town for co-operataing with sales tax department. He said that the department achieved 16.5 Cr targeted turnover tax from trade here.
At the end of programme president trader’s federation Haji Mohammed Ashraf Ganaie delivered a word of thanks to C.T.O and his team for come to the event and making the traders aware about the GST. He also thanked all the participants.
