NC concerned over Kashmir situation

 

National Conference (NC) Sunday expressed serious concern over the deteriorating situation in the Valley.

Convening a meeting of its apex body, the party’s core group, in Srinagar, NC president and MP,  Dr. Farooq Abdullah, said that the situation has deteriorated. He made these remarks while chairing the meeting which was also attended by party’s Working President Omar Abdullah.

The NC core group while expressing serious concern over the deteriorating situation showed disappointment at the complete failure of the state Government on governance front. The party said that the government has failed to create a suitable peaceful environment which was visible after the cancellation of the Anantnag by-poll as also due to the rising incidents of violence and turmoil in the state.

 

The core group also expressed disappointment over the unwillingness of the Government of India (GOI) to recognize the political nature of the problem which has further compounded the problem in the Valley and added to the “already serious level of alienation.”

Expressing profound grief over the loss of lives in recent incidents of violence in the Valley, NC expressed solidarity with bereaved families and extended the party’s condolences to them.

 

Among others who attended the meet include general secretary, Ali Mohammad Sagar, senior leaders Mohammad Shafi Uri, Abdul Rahim Rather, Chaudhary Mohammad Ramzan, Mubarak Gul, Mohammad Akbar Lone, Provincial President  Nasir Aslam Wani, Sakina Ittoo, Khalid Najeeb Suharwardy, Sajjad Ahmed Kitchloo and Javed Rana.
