Government on Sunday ordered appointment Rohit Kansal as the Principal secretary to the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti.  The 1995 batch  IAS officer who is also Secretary to the Government, Public Works (R&B) Department has been given additional charge as Principal Secretary. This was stated by government on Sunday in GAD order which read that in the “interest of administration,’’  Kansal would get the   charge of the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, in addition to his own duties, “till further orders.”

The order further mentions that he will also hold the charge of the posts of Administrative Secretary Hospitality & Protocol, Civil Aviation and Estates departments.
