State resorting to military build-up in Kashmir: Joint Resistance Leadership

The joint resistance leadership Saturday said that the state machinery is carrying out political vendetta against the civilian population in Kashmir Valley.

The leadership, comprising of Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Muhammad Yasin Malik said that the people of Kashmir were facing the worst form of state sponsored terrorism.

Resistance leaders said that the state was pushing the people towards wall by resorting to military build-up in Kashmir and to impose silence.

Following the programme of resistance leadership, a joint protest rally of resistance parties was taken outside the Jamia Masjid to protest the killing of civilian Ghulam Hassan Bhat of Panzgam Kupwara.

A large number of people participated in the rally. The members of resistance leadership, who participated included GN Zaki, Noor Mohammad Kalwal, Sheikh Abdul Rashid, Mehrajudin Kalwal, Mushtaq Ahmad Sofi, Imtiyaz Haider, Farooq Ahmad Saudagar, Umer Adil Dar, Mustafa Sultan, Mudasir Nabi, Peer Ghulam Nabi and others.

Reacting to the statement of VHP leader, Praveen Togadia, that Kashmir should be carpet bombed, the resistance leadership stated that such poisonous statements by Hindutva forces have been a tradition. They stated that Kashmiris were not fearful of such hollow statements.
