A complete shutdown was observed, on Tuesday, in Maisuma area against the detention of a local youth, who has been held allegedly under the Public Safety Act (PSA).

The JKLF spokesman said that the authorities have detained the local youth under detention at Kotbolwal Jail in Jammu from past several months. This is the fifth case of PSA being slapped against a local youth.

All shops, business establishments and schools in the area remained closed while the traffic was thin on the roads.

The witnesses said that the authorities had erected concertina wires on some roads leading to Maisuma area.

However, the pedestrians and bikers were allowed to pass through the road.
