Pulwama boy wins Gold Medal in Thailand

A twenty one year old student of Government Degree College Pulwama, Sheeraz Ahmad Bhat has won a gold medal for India at 5th Asian championship of Sqay martial Art. The Championship was held in Thailand. Sheeraz beat his counterpart from China by two points.

In his earlier matches he defeated the players from Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Jordan, Malaysia, Srilanka, Thailand and China.

Belonging to a middle class family of Litter village of Pulwama Sheeraz has won many medal at national level as well.

While talking with Kashmir Vision he expressed his ebullience on his success. He dedicated his success to the Principal of Degree College, Pulwama, his teachers at the college, his friends and his personal coach Ms. Salma.

On asking whether Jammu and Kashmir has such infrastructure which he experienced in a foreign country, he said that Jammu and Kashmir as well as whole India is lagging behind as far as sports infrastructure is concerned but he hoped that government will work on it.

While to talking to Kashmir Vision his personal coach Ms Salma said that she was very proud of Sheeraz’s performance as he has earned a name for himself and his state.
