Ensure safety of Kashmirirs in Kashmir as well, Omar tells Rajnath

Reacting to the statement by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah has asked the home minister to ensure the safety of Kashmiris in Kashmir as well.

In a tweet, Omar said that, “Thank you jenab. Please ensure the safety of Kashmiris (inc students) in Kashmir as well. The state government has thus far failed”.

Rajnath had earlier asked Home Secretary to issue advisory to all states to ensure the safety of Kashmiris in other states of India.

Home Ministers’ advisory came after students from the valley were allegedly beaten up in Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh.

Pertinently, UP Navnirman Sean had put hoardings in Meerut city of the Uttar Pradesh asking Kashmiris to leave the town or face consequences.

According to the media reports, a case has been filed against Amit Jani, chairman of UP Nav Nirman Sen for allegedly spreading communal hatred.
