Palladium Cinema site to be converted into heritage museum: Government

Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today chaired a meeting to review progress of various developmental activities being carried out by the Srinagar Development Authority (SDA).

Vice Chairman SDA Mustafa Tehseen, Deputy Director Planning Noor Mohammad, Officers of SDA, and other concerned attended the meeting.

During the meeting, the Divisional Commissioner was briefed that the SDA has acquired 4200 kanals of land at Rakh Gund Aksha for Satellite Colony, while as work is on full swing on multi-level Parking at Press Colony and Sheikhbagh. It was given out that both the projects are being carried out at an estimated cost of Rs 26.91 crore and Rs 22.50 crore respectively.

The Div Com also reviewed preparation of Srinagar Master Plan and status of parking site at Pantha Chowk, besides work on food court and Children Park at Sangarmaal complex and construction of proposed Shehjar Apartments. The meeting was informed that Palladium cinema site at Lal Chowk will be developed as a heritage museum soon.

Khan also directed the concerned to prepare a detailed report to address water logging issues and repair all toilet blocks in the city for the convenience of the general public.
