JK Agro Industries Development Corporation employees demand perks

Permanent employees working with the government-run Jammu and Kashmir Agro Industries Development Corporation (JKAIDC) Khonmou Division yet again staged protest demonstration against withholding of salaries for several months.

The employees shouted slogans against the Director Finance and Divisional Manager.

“From past five months, we haven’t received salary, despite being the permanent employees. We have no other source of income as a result our families particularly school going children have been suffering,” said a protesting employee.

“Our Managing Director has been trying to resolve the issue, but the Divisional Manager and Director Finance have been creating problems for us. Instead of resolving our issue, these officials force us to maintain silence,” they said.

When contacted Director Finance Rakesh Khajuria confirmed that, employees are without salaries. He said Corporation has no funds and even has exhausted the working capital. “We are hopeful that government will make funds available and employees will get salaries,” he said.

Divisional Manager said that one month’s salary has been released while efforts are on to provide the pending salaries to the employees.

Minister for Agriculture Ghulam Nabi Lone Hanjura said that he will look into the matter.
