Family seeks arrest of main accused in murder case

A family from Hakbara Hajin area of North Kashmir’s Bandipora district has alleged that police failed to arrest six persons involved in the murder of 28 year old youth Bashir Ahmed Wagay.
 
The family members led by Abdul Rasheed Wagay emerged in Press Enclave Srinagar and told reporters that out of 11 murder accused police station Hajin arrested only five accused while main culprits have not been touched.
 
“During a scuffle between two families in Hakbara area, 28 year old youth Bashir Ahmed Wagay was hit by the family members of Abdul Rashid Bhat of the same area. The wounded youth was shifted to SKIMS where he succumbed to his injuries. Police registered an FIR vide number 15/2017 under section 302 and arrested only five accused. 
 
The main accused were not touched,” the family members said and appealed the police to arrest all the accused.
   
“The irony is that one of the arrested accused calls us from police station on phone, requesting for a compromise,” the family claimed.
 
Station House Officer Hajin, Parvez Ahmed declined to comment on the issue.
