HCJK leaders placed under house arrest

Srinagar: Police on Thursday put Hurriyat Conference Jammu and Kashmir (HCJK) leadership under house confinement at Freedom House in Sanatnagar, a statement issued by the pro-freedom amalgam said.
The statement said that after the arrival from Delhi on Thursday, where they had gone to attend Pakistan Day function, the HCJK leaders including Shabir Ahmed Shah, Nayeem Ahmed Khan and Shabir Ahmed Dar were holding a meeting when Police cordoned off the house and asked them not to leave the premises.
“Police asked us not to move outside the freedom house till further orders,” the statement while condemning the move.
The statement said that police also raided house of another HCJK leader, Mohammad Yousuf Naqash.
