9476 ha land in Sonwari brought under high yield crops

BANDIPORA: In order to make the farmers aware about latest technology, Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Sumbal organized awareness programmes at Town Hall Sumbal.
Chief Agriculture Officer, Bandipora and Sub Divisional Agriculture Officer Sumbal besides agriculture experts and progressive farmers attended these camps, an official spokesperson said.
While sensitizing the farmers about scientific methods, the experts during these camps shared their view points with regard to soil testing, use of fertilizers, pesticides, insecticides, seeds etc so that quality yield is produced and also the quantity of various crops is increased. They also laid stress on the cultivation of vegetables on a large scale.
It was disclosed that 9476 hectares of land was brought under high yielding varieties of paddy, maize, wheat, pulses, oats, oil seed and vegetables in Sonawari Tehsil last year.
