KTF demands compensation for flyover affected shopkeepers

SRINAGAR: Kashmir Traders Federation has demanded special package for the shopkeepers being affected by the construction of the Jehangir Chowk –Rambagh Flyover.
The federation in a statement has urged that Chief Minister Omar Abdullah should personally look into the rehabilitation process and ensure that the lively hood of the affected shopkeepers should not get hit.
The statement said many shopkeepers have taken loans from the banks and they are not in a position to repay them as their trade has been hit with the on going construction of the flyover.
It has also suggested that that dust and pollution during the construction should be taken care off as it has resulted in severe health problems in the surrounding areas.
The KTF also demanded that the street lighting on the vital road link from Karan Nagar to Soura be restored immediately as it is causing immense problem to the business community and commuters.
