Budgam achieves 64% credit target during current fiscal

BUDGAM: District Development Commissioner, Budgam, Khurshid Ahmed Shah convened a meeting to review the achievements of banks viz disbursement to district credit plan till December 2013, an official spokesperson said.
The banks in the district have disbursed an amount of Rs 249.17 crores out of the target of Rs 384.01 crores thus achieving 64.89 percent of the overall target. Out of this, Rs 172.89 crores has been spent under priority sector lending.
Banks were directed to ensure the disbursement of all the cases expeditiously and directed the departments for realizing the margin money/interest subsidy and Capital subsidy pending with the sponsoring agencies such that all pending cases are disbursed.
A bigger role for establishing and implementing job oriented schemes and assisting unemployed youth in establishing their own self employment units, was stressed by District Development Commissioner.
All the Banks were emphasized to improve their credit ratios. Joint effort of Banks and Government departments in reconciliation of cases was stressed and need for awareness camps was also felt such that natives avail benefit of various plans and schemes.
Under National Rural Livelihood meeting, the meeting was informed that 494 self help groups have been formed in Khansahib area involving 6295 households with Rs.  38 lakhs disbursed as revolving fund.
The schemes like Rajiv Rinn Yojna aiming at providing housing facility to urban poor and Swarojgar Credit Card aiming at lending credit to small artisans, weavers and vendors need to be implemented, remarked DDC as the progress of these schemes is laxed.
