REASI: Police have arrested two officials of Social Welfare Department, working in the ICDS programme, along with two locals in Mahore area of district Reasi for misappropriating food items meant for supply to the ICDS centers.

An investigation by the police has revealed that the officials sold the food items including cereals, pulses, sugar, biscuits and other edibles meant for the Aganwandi Centres in the open market.

The officials Mira Baksh and Sarfaraz Ahmad both of whom have been booked according to police even forged documents to maintain fake records for the supply being dispatched to relevant centers.

Police has also arrested one Mushtaq Ahmad who has purchased these items from the ICDS officials and is on look out for another Master Muhammad Yusuf.

“Police is investigating the matter and has filed an FIR 14/2014 under sections 409/411/120/420/467/468,” SDPO Mohore, Seikh Ajaz, told Kashmir Reader.
