NEW DELHI: It’s raining discounts on domestic airfares. Extending the bonanza to air travellers, domestic carrier Jet Airways has announced upto 75 percent discount to air travellers who are flying between March and September.
Jet’s decision comes after SpiceJet Ltd, Go Air and Indigo’s fare cut announcements.
Jet Airways, in a circular to travel agents, said that customers travelling between March 27 and September 30 2014 can avail the discount. The carrier has announced between 70 and 75 percent discount on domestic route on tickets booked till February 27. The company has however not specified the routes.
Low-cost carrier SpiceJet Monday triggered a third round of fare war by cutting ticket prices by a massive 75 percent, a move which was soon followed by its rivals GoAir and IndiGo.
Following suit, GoAir announced up to 70 percent reduction in fares for booking in the next three days, starting Monday, while IndiGo came out with discounted tickets on select sectors.
