JAMMU: The Cabinet which met here Monday under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Omar Abdullah approved promotion of six IPS officers of 1996 batch to the Super Time Scale (ii)-IGP Pay Band 4 (Rs37400-67000)+ GP 10,000.
The promotes are: Avtar Singh Bali, Sham Lal Sharma, Jagjit Kumar, Shafqat Ali Watali and Mubarik Ahmed Ganie with effect from 01.01.2014, while JP Singh has been promoted prospectively.
The Cabinet also approved one-year extension in the service of Dr Rafiq Ahmad Pampori as Principal, Government Medical College Srinagar beyond his date of retirement on superannuation.
