LPG dealers call off strike

SRINAGAR: LPG dealers have called off their strike, after a government of India assurance to address their grievances, All Kashmir LPG Distributors Association said late Monday evening.
Secretary of the association, Abdul Hamid told Kashmir Reader that the strike has been postponed after the GOI held talks with the All India LPG Distribution Union’s where it has been agreed that a committee would be set up to look into the suggestions put forth by the dealers for streamlining the distribution system.
Hamid said that the Oil ministry has agreed that there will be re-look on new marketing discipline guidelines (MDG) 2014 which has more stringent distribution norms besides penalties and even cancellation of distributorship.
