JAMMU: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Saturday said that allegation about one of his Cabinet ministers that he possessed a bungalow in Dubai has proved “totally baseless”.
Allegation levelled against Finance Minister Abdul Rahim Rather that he possessed a bungalow in Dubai “has been proved as totally wrong when investigated by the Vigilance Organization,” Abdullah told the Legislative Assembly while replying the discussion on demand of grants for the departments under his charge.
Abdullah said that he is very strict against corruption and has never shielded anyone in his government against whom there was any charge of corruption.
He sid when a complaint against Rather came to him, he immediately asked the Vigilance Organization to verify the matter. “The Vigilance Organization, after conducting thorough inquiry, found that the allegation was ill-founded and totally baseless,” he said.
