17 injured in LPG explosion

Jammu: At least 17 people, including three minors, were injured when an LPG cylinder exploded at a marriage function in Ranbir Singh Pura area on city outskirts of this winter capital city of Jammu and Kashmir, police said.
The liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinder caught fire yesterday when its pipe exploded, police said, adding that 17 people, who were attending the function in village Abdullian, sustained burn injuries.
“Stampede-like situation occurred at the function due to panic which triggered after the cylinder caught fire,” the police said.
The injured were shifted to a nearby hospital with critically injured being referred to the Government Medical College and Hospital, Jammu.
