Horticulture awareness camp held at Anantnag

Anantnag: Directorate of Horticulture in collaboration with chief horticulture officer Anantnag Saturday conducted one day awareness camp for fruit growers of the district here.
The camp was chaired by Deputy Director Horticulture Planning. The experts from Krishi Vigyan Kendra Dooru, SKUAST and Horticulture department made the growers aware about the pre and post harvest management techniques besides the protection and prevention measures to be adopted for the best and high yield crops.
Use of quality pesticides, insecticides and adhering of spray schedules devised by SKUAST and horticulture experts were deliberated upon during the awareness camp. The growers were advised to strictly follow the instructions.
Deputy Director Horticulture Kashmir while speaking on the occasion said that department is taking every possible step for increasing the quality and quantity yield of fruit by making the growers aware about the latest tools and techniques. For this purpose the exposure tours are being arranged for the growers in and outside the state. He asked the growers to maintaining the quality while packing different fruits for good returns besides ensuring the use of quality and pure pesticides. He also stressed for use of organic fertilizers.
